confirmation that the DA is unable to attract, motivate, energetic, youthfull and innovative forward thinking members from within our community....
same old same old useless bunch, party first and foremost, snouts in the trough...
with a relatively efficient administration, i often wonder what would actually change on a day to day basis if the elected politicians, constantly appearing for photo opps when the administration does something, disappeared completely for a few months...
remember the adjoining cliff path, built and funded privately with zero support from the elected dingbats?
they all appeared raving upon completion, smiling for the cameras...
ja nê, lekker by die see

@peepso_user_30(dizzypete) Maybe communities must share the blame for not fielding stronger candidates political parties could select from

@peepso_user_12(Errol) communities have plenty good candidates, dear errol - but as you know, the system is such that within political parties there is a hierarchy where the members go up the ladder, so to speak, proportional to their "service" et al to the party..
thus, firstly, one has to be a party member
if i look around at who those members, card carrying persons, are, i am personally not inspired to join the party - meaning the DA specifically and as for the others in our broader community, less said the better

real competent persons with integrity, love for their communities with work and service appetite, wont join an institution where the party comes first, not the people one is elected to serve, contrary to what any party will tell one - we have too many examples of that right here.

.... and, have you heard of the party actively approaching persons to join/stand? i have not...

remember doolittle, after being mayor, still standing as a councillor? was there an attempt to mentor, find a younger person? i guess not

so, who does that leave?

in my view, people with an agenda faaar removed from representing, ethically, honestly and with purpose, the people.

untill we rid ourselves of apathy, actively get involved, we will get the "representatives" we deserve
